DHAKA: BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed said that BNP’s alliance with Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh is on and it will continue.
“We are trying settlement with Jamaat. Jamaat is an organized party. The alliance with the party (Jamaat) remains and will continue,” he said.
“Jamaat-e-Islami has nominated candidate for a local government polls in Sylhet. The government is spreading confusing information over it, in the media. Local government polls and national polls are different,” he criticized the government’s role over upcoming Sylhet City Corporation polls.
Moudud, as the chief guest, was addressing a discussion at Jatiya Press Club Friday (July 20).
He accused the pro-government quarter for an alleged gold scam under the authorization of Bangladesh Bank.
However, BNP Joint Secretary General Moazzem Hossain Alal was, among others, attended the discussion.
