NAYAPALTAN (DHAKA): BNP is holding a protest rally demanding better treatment of its Chairperson Khaleda Zia and her unconditional release from prison.

According to schedule, the procession has begun at 3:00pm in front of Nayapaltan party office in the capital on Friday (July 20).

Thousands of leaders and activists are occupying the spot till filling the report. Party leaders are making speeches from temporary stage.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir presides over the rally.

BNP Standing Committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Vice Chairman Nitai Roy Chowdhury, Selima Rahman, Advisor Zainul Abdin Farruq, BNP's South Secretary Kazi Abul Bashar, Abdus Salam Azad, Amirul Islam Alim and various level leaders are present on the stage.

On February 8, High Court sentenced five years’ imprisonment to Khaleda Zia in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case. She was sent to Dhaka central jail following the verdict.

Since then, she has been in jail.
