DHAKA: BNP leader Barrister Moudud Ahmed remarked that governor of Bangladesh Bank should resign from his post over reported gold scam in bank’s vault.
Moudud Ahmed said, “The current governor should follow footsteps of the former governor of the central bank Atiur Rahman who resigned over reserve heist. This way, his honor will remain safe.”
Barrister Moudud Ahmed came up with the remark at a discussion titled ‘Politics-of conflict, a threat to Democracy, and Good Governance,’ organized by Democratic Cultural Coalition at city’s National Press Club on Saturday (July 21).
He also said, “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is being accorded a reception at the city’s Suhrawardy Udyan by government money. Likewise, BNP has to be given permission to stage such a program.”
