DHAKA: Jatiya Party chairman HM Ershad has visited road crash victim Diya’s house and demanded death penalty of the bus driver that killed two students on city’s Airport Road.

HM Ershad told reporters after visiting family of the deceased Diya Khanom Mim on Friday (August 3).

He also assures the family of financial assistance. But the decision has not been made yet.

He said, “When I was the president I enacted a law for the punishment of road accident. Later, this law was nullified, and changed into life term imprisonment amid movement.”

Earlier on July 29, 2 students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College were killed as a speedy bus hit them on Airport Road of the capital city.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Karim, 16 and Diya, 15. Twelve others were injured in the accident.
