BOGRA: Police detained three suspected members of banned militant outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Durgam Char area under Dhusmara upazila of Kurigram on early Saturday (August 4).

The detainees are- Kurigram District JMB Ichaba chief Tofazzal Hossain alias Tota Mia, 30, Dhusmara JMB chief Rafiqul Islam, 40 and a member Abdul Hamid, 60. All of them are hailing from Dhusmara.

Bogra Superintendent of Police (SP) Ali Ashraf Bhuyian made the disclosure at his district office on Saturday noon (August 4).

He said police conducted the drive based on information extracted from 4 JMB men who were detained earlier on July 29. During the raid, police also seized foreign pistol, 4 rounds of bullet, two magazines, one kilograms of explosive powder and half liter of sulphuric acid.

A case will be filed against them and police will seek 10-day remand for them in court, the SP added.
