DHAKA: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury were accused in a case on charge of prompting the protesting students to violence.
Awami League wing Jananetri Parishad’s President AB Siddiqui filed the case with Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court Monday (August 6) morning.
Metropolitan magistrate AHM Toaha took deposition of the plaintiff and directed Tejgaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge to submit report upon investigation.
AB Siddiqui himself confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
Amir Khasru, by his speech, instigated the protesting students of road safety movement, stated the plaintiff.
Besides, an audio clip of him went viral where Amir Khasru asked one of the Chhatra Dal leaders to join the protesters along with his associates, the statement added.
The instruction led Chhatra Dal men to mingle into the general students and set various vehicles on fire. Moreover, it mongered panic by spreading rumors about rape of female students and murders of male students, added the statement.
