DHAKA: A Dhaka court deferred to September 5 the hearing on arguments of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in Zia Charitable Trust Graft Case.

Besides, her bail was extended till the same day.

Acting Judge Sheikh Alam of Dhaka Special Judge Court-5 passed the order Tuesday (August 7).

Khaleda Zia’s lawyer Zainul Abedin confirmed the matter to Banglanews. 

On February 1, the same court installed at the prison department ground in Bakshibazar of old Dhaka granted Khaleda Zia bail till February 25 and later extended it.

Khaleda Zia was convicted in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case and sent to jail on February 8.

However, Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the graft case against Khaleda Zia and three others with Tejgaon police station on August 8, 2011 for embezzling Tk 3.15 crore from Zia Charitable Trust.
