DHAKA: Three leaders and activists of the ruling party wing Jubo League sustained bullet injuries as unidentified miscreants shot them, in South Musundi area of Dhaka’s Wari, on Saturday (August 11) night.
The injured are—Md Jewel, 35, general secretary of Wari thana unit, Robin, 30, president of ward no.3 unit and Kajal Islam, 35, a ward unit member.
They came under attack by the miscreants around 08:45pm.
The trio were rescued and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for treatment.
Some 4-5 masked young men opened fire at them while they along with 5-6 others were chitchatting at a butcher’s shop before a hotel in South Musundi, said injured Kajal.
The miscreants left the scene immediately, he added.
DMCH Police Outpost In-Charge Sub-Inspector (SI) Bacchu Mia said the trio were undergoing treatment. They received bullets on legs.
Wari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Azizur Rahman acknowledges the incident.
Efforts are on to reveal details, he said.
