DHAKA: Police arrested four members of banned extremist outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from city’s Abdullahpur area Sunday night (August 12).

The detainees are- Mahibul Islam, 22, Mozammel Huq alias Billal, 34, Shamim Ahammed, 27 and Delwar Hossain, 37.

A team of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of DMP conducted a drive in Abdullahpur area and detained them. The law enforcers also recovered 96 detonators and other bomb making materials from the JMB men. 

A case has been lodged against them under Anti-terrorism Act, said DMP Assistant Commissioner (AC) Sumon Kanti Chowdhury.
