DHAKA: Family members of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia met with her in Dhaka central jail on Saturday afternoon (August 18).

The five family members are- Khaleda’s (late) younger son Arafat Rahman Koko’s wife Sharmili Rahman, sister Selina Islam, nephew Dr. Mamun and Koko’s younger daughter Zahia Rahman.

According to jail sources, they have arrived at the jail gate in the afternoon and were given permission to enter around 4:15pm.

On February 8, a Dhaka court sentenced five years jail to BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia in a graft case. Following the verdict, she was taken to old central jail in Dhaka’s Nizamuddin area.
