Quader rules out possibility of dialogue before polls Minister Obaidul Quader briefs media

DHAKA: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has hinted that the ruling party won’t hold any dialogue with BNP, ahead of the 11th national parliamentary polls to be held in December.

“Dialogue will hold before the next election (12th national polls), but not this time,” he said.

“The upcoming election (11th national polls) will be held as per the constitution. The government won’t possess any power during the polls,” he added.

Obaidul Quader, also the Road Transport & Bridges Minister, was talking to the reporters after inspecting Gabtoli Bus Terminal in Dhaka, Sunday (August 19) morning.

The election-time government will serve the routine duties while everything including the cabinet and police-administration will go under authorization of Election Commission (EC), he said further.
