No need of dialogue; polls on time: Tofail Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed talks to reporters

BHOLA: Criticizing BNP of rejecting dialogue invitations in the past, Awami League Advisory Council member Tofail Ahmed said now there’s no need to hold a dialogue with BNP, ahead of the national parliamentary polls.

“The elections will be held as per the constitution. The elections will be held fair & flawless, on the day scheduled by the Election Commission (EC). We have nothing to do if any party doesn’t join it,” he said.

Tofail Ahmed, also the commerce minister, was talking to the reporters after addressing a brief rally on Charsitaram School in Rajapur union under Bhola sadar Thursday (August 23).

Saying the elections won’t get halted if BNP doesn’t participate in, Tofail accused BNP of killing police, presiding officers and people for foiling 2014 national polls.

“They vacate chests of many mothers, but couldn’t succeed”

“They won’t be successful this time too. BNP doesn’t have the power to resist the elections,” added the minister.
