DHAKA: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said BNP would fall into renewed perilous situation after the verdict announcement of the Aug 21 grenade attack case.
“The killings took place on that day (August 21, 2004) was powered by direct help of BNP-led government, direct plan and instruction of Hawa Bhaban. Now everyone is pleased as verdict of the case is coming out. Only BNP is unhappy,” he said.
Obaidul Quader, also the road transport & bridges minister, was talking to the journalists after paying tribute to Ivy Rahman, at Banani Graveyard Friday (August 24).
“There is probability of coming out the verdict in September. BNP has become anxious after learning it. Their involvement causes this displeasure. Because, they will fall in renewed crisis when the verdict will come out. Already, they are in crisis,” Quader added.
Tribute was paid to Aug 21 attack victim Ivy Rahman, on behalf of Awami League and its associate bodies.
Obaidul Quader led the team includes Awami League Presidium member Sahara Khatun, Joint General Secretary Dipu Moni, Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Organizing Secretary Abu Sayeed Al Mahmud Swapon, among others.
