DHAKA: BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said the remarks of ruling party leaders hint that a politically prescribed verdict will be given in the August 21 grenade attack case.
The senior BNP leader made the assertion at a press briefing in party’s Naya Paltan party office on Saturday noon (August 25).
He said, “The remarks of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and AL general secretary Obaidul Quader indicates that they are trying their best to prescribe the verdict of August 21 grenade attack case. People are now speculating whether is it they or the court will give the ultimate verdict.”
Earlier on Friday AL GS Obaidul Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said BNP will face new crisis after the verdict of the grenade attack case is pronounced in September.
Mentioning that the government might be hatching new plot against BNP in the coming days, Rizvi warned the ruling party saying, “It doesn’t matter how much conspiracy you do against us because it won’t help stopping your ultimate collapse.”
