BNP activist shot, hacked to death in Jessore

JESSORE: A BNP activist was hacked and shot to death by miscreants at Shankarpur in Jessore city on Sunday afternoon (August 26).

The deceased, identified as Mashiur Rahman, 45, son of one Takabbar Sheikh of Shangkarpur, was a small businessman in profession. 

Victim’s family and eyewitnesses told Banglanews that some miscreants hacked and shot Mashiur while he was in the office of his business institution in Shankarpur. Later he was taken to Jessore General Hospital where on-duty physician declared him dead. 

BNP general secretary of Jessore city unit Munir Ahmed Bacchu told Banglanews that Mashiur was an active local worker of the party. 

Jessore Katwali model police station officer-in-charge (OC) Apurba Hasan told Banglanews that police inspected the crime scene. The matter is being investigated and perpetrators will be brought to justice.
