DHAKA: BNP has received verbal approval from DMP to hold a symbolic hunger strike in demand of its Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s release at Engineering Institute in Ramna on Wednesday (Sept 12).
Party’s senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said it on Tuesday evening (Sep 11).
He said Dhaka Metropolitan Police has given permission to hold a token hunger strike on Engineering Institute premise. The program demanding release of Khaleda Zia will be observed across the country at the same time.
Earlier a 3-member delegation of BNP went to DMP commissioner’s office and waited for 2 hours for a meeting. Finally, a verbal approval was given to the party.
