DHAKA: BNP staged a mass token hunger strike in the city demanding unconditional release of its Chairperson Khaleda Zia from jail as well as her proper treatment.

The program began on the premises of Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh at 10 am on Wednesday (September 12).

Standing committee member Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain chaired as the chief guest since secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is outside the country.

The strike continued till 12 pm with the attendance senior leaders and a large number of supporters.
