DHAKA: Gano Forum President and convener of national unity process Dr Kamal Hossain has announced to start activities and programs for the greater national unity.

He also urged all forces that support country’s liberation war and independence to join the alliance.

Dr Kamal made the announcement at a press conference held in national press club lounge on Saturday afternoon (Sep 15).

Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder Zafrullah Chowdhury, JSD president ASM Abdur Rab, Nagarik Oikya Convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna, JSD secretary general Abdul malek Ratan, Gano Forum executive president advocate Subrata Chowdhury, Bikaladhara organizing secretary Chowdhury Omar Faruk among other were present at the news conference. 

Nagarik Oikya Convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna also read out National Unity’s five-point demand and nine-point goal ahead of the parliamentary polls.

Dr. Kamal said, “People are the real owner of the country and a fair election is must to establish that. An effective democracy must be established ahead of the 50 years anniversary of independence. Greater National Unity is official launching its activities from today to ensure that only the real representative of the people can rule the country.”
