DHAKA: The High Court on Sunday (September 16) rejected a plea of BNP standing committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury challenging an ACC order directing him to be quizzed over money laundering and illegal dealings.
The HC bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice KM Hafizul Alam passed the order.
Barrister Moudud Ahmed moved for Khasru and Advocate Khurshid Alam Khan moved for Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), at the courtroom.
The hearing upon the appeal began on September 11.
On August 16, ACC sent a notice directing Khasru to appear before its headquarters in Dhaka’s Segunbaghicha on August 28, to be questioned.
Khasru then sought one month time.
The ACC summoned him again, issuing another notice.
Afterwards, he filed a writ with the High Court, challenging the ACC order.
