Bangladesh defeated Zimbabwe by three runs in their T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12 stage fixture, at The Gabba in Brisbane on Sunday (Oct 30). 

Chasing a 151-run target set by Bangladesh, Zimbabwe could manage 147 for eight in 19.5 overs. 

Sean Williams played a knock of 64 runs off 42 balls but failed to take his side past the finish line. 

Taskin Ahmed was adjudged Player of the Match for taking three wickets. Mosaddek Hossain and Mustafizur Rahman, however, bagged two-wicket hauls. 

Initially, a knock of 71 runs off 55 balls by Najmul Hossain Shanto helped Bangladesh post 150 for seven in 20 overs. 

Meanwhile, Richard Ngarava and Blessing Muzarabani bagged two-wicket hauls for Zimbabwe. 

The win over Zimbabwe will obviously boost Bangladesh's chances of securing their berth in the semi-finals in the T20 World Cup.
