The three-time BPL champions Bashundhara Kings reached the quarterfinals of the Bashundhara Group 12th Independence Cup 2022 after beating Azampur Football Club Uttara by 3-0 goals in their second group match at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj on Friday (Nov 18).

Kings’ Brazilian sensation Dorielton Gomes Nascimento ensured the victory by scoring a brace in the 57th and 90+2nd minutes after national forward Rakib Hossain scored an opener in the 11th minute of the game.

Dorielton earlier contributed six goals in Kings’ 14-0 goal win over Fakirapool Young Men’s Club in their first match.

Chattogram Abahoni also reached the quarterfinals of the meet after beating Fakirapool YMC by 4-0 goals in the day’s other match at the Bir Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.

Ivorian midfielder Yacouba Nambelesseny Bamba scored twice in the 18th and 71st minutes while forward Jamir Uddin and Nigerian forward Ojukwu David Ifegwu added one goal each in the 8th and 90+2nd minutes.

Ctg Abahoni earlier beat Azampur FC Uttara by 2-1 goals in their first match at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj.

Dhaka Abahani will play against Bangladesh Air Force Football Team in Munshiganj while Muktijoddha Sangsad KC will take on Uttara Football Club in Gopalganj on Saturday.
