The first phase of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) football, will begin tomorrow (Dec 9) at three separate venues across the country.
The eleven-round first phase matches will be held from December 9 to February 25 next year at five separate venues across the country.
The venues are Bashundhara Sports Complex in Dhaka, Bir Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj, Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla, Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj and Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh.
Earlier on Wednesday night, the Bangladesh Football Federation released the fixture with the first phase matches to be held only on Friday and Saturday in a week.
On the first day, defending champions Bashundhara Kings will take on Azampur Football Club Uttara at Bashundhara Sports Complex and Abahani Limited Dhaka face Fortis Football Club Limited at Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla while Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited meet old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Goplaganj.
All the three matches kick off at 2.30 pm.
In the remaining first-round matches which will be on the following day Saturday (Dec 10), Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited will play against Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra at Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla while Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Limited meet Bangladesh Police Football Club at Bashundhara Sports Complex in the city.
