Bangladesh managed to score 82-2 at lunch on day one of the second and final Test against India at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Thursday (Dec 22).
Mominul Haque was batting on 23 with captain Shakib Al Hasan on 16 at the first interval of the day, guiding Bangladesh unscathed to the lunch after the home side was reduced to 39-2.
Bangladesh openers-Najmul Hossain Shanto and Zakir Hasan-got some support of luck to add 39 runs but both of them were dismissed in the space of three balls, leaving the side at bay.
Pacer Jaydev Unadkat (1-20), who returned to Test squad after 12 years, made a breakthrough dismissing Zakir Hasan for 15 with a delivery that carried extra bounce.
However, the opener who made a century on his debut in the first Test could have gone for duck had Mohammed Siraj not dropped him at backward square leg off fast bowler Umesh Yadav in just second over of the day.
Shanto got numerous edges but lucky enough survive. His luck finally ran out when he got out on 24 after offering no shot against offspinner Ravichandran Ashwin.
