In March 2020, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza last played in an international match. Previously he retired from T-20, but not from one day and test. Mortaza is now 39, and no longer in a situation to fight for his place in the national team.

There are talks to give Mashrafe a chance to retire from the field. One of the most successful captain of the national team is playing for Sylhet strikers this season BPL and leading the team. He is the second most wicket-taker of the tournament with nine wickets after Khulna tigers' Wahab Riaz. 

Now again talks are raised about Mashrafe's career end. So, is there any plan to give Mashrafe a chance to retire from the field? Question asked by a journalist to the selector of the national team at share a bangla national cricket stadium on Monday. 

Abdur Razzak, Mashrafes former teammate and member of the selections panel said Monday at Mirpur, 'It totalally bord decision. These types of decisions are special. We have no Compassion in this matter. We want players to say goodbye from the field. It's nice to see, people will also be happy with this.

'If the board decides, we will respect the matter. Not only for Mashrafe but all. Whoever played for the national team for a long time, if they have this chance, it's good. Players can also get a memory. If they get retired from the field, it's good.'

Chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu shares his thoughts about Mashrafes' performance in BPL at the age of 39, 'legend will always run like a legend. Young cricketers can learn from him. How he performs at this age and maintains his fitness. Mashrafe is an inspiration.'

Mashrafe has a nearly two decade’s career for the national team. After his debut in 2001, Narail Express played 36 tests, 220 ODI, and 54 T-20 international matches for the country.
