Bangladesh clinched victory in the first T20 international of the three-match series in a comprehensive manner as Ireland lose the rain-affected game by 22 runs (DLS Method).

After a good power play, Ireland failed to capitalize on the momentum as Taskin Ahmed took 4 wickets in his quota of overs at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Monday (March 27).

After rain stopped Bangladesh’s innings at 207/5 with just 4 balls remaining, Ireland were set to chase 104 runs in 8 overs. 

Openers Rony Talukdar and Litton Das starred with the bat making 67 and 47 respectively. Rony was adjudged Player of the Match. 

Earlier, Ireland have won the toss and opted to field first. Ireland will be looking to rebound in the T20I series, which gets underway.
