Pakistan A won by 128 Runs.
Player Of the Match: Tayyab Tahir
Player Of the Series: Nishan Sindhu

Dominating the rest of the contestants all the way a well-organized Pakistan team having some outstanding talents deservedly won the trophy outclassing young Indian A by huge 128 runs yesterday in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The outcome of the contest could be guessed when Pakistan blasting Indian attack set up a very impressive total of 352/8 batting first. Chasing such a huge target was well beyond the reach of young inexperienced India. All they could manage was 224 before getting all out encountering steady but penetrative Pakistan attack. Pakistan in the semi final beat Sri Lanka while India prevailed over Bangladesh in the semifinals.

ACC must be congratulated for this well organized tournament which gave budding youths of the shadow national teams to test their skills, aptitudes and temperament. Teams from India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan mostly fielded talented young upcoming players. Bangladesh appeared with many of their players already having exposure to international cricket. In the overall analysis Pakistan was the most deserving team having very good well organized aggressive batsmen and good penetrative bowlers. Young Indian team having none with international experience did exceedingly well reaching the final. Sri Lanka was another talented team going down fighting against the ultimate winner Pakistan in the semifinal.

Several players made useful contribution to the mammoth Pakistan score of 352/8 as India put them to bat. Of them Tayaab Tahir scored a very impressive 108. The 121 runs in 17/2 overs opening partnership of Salim Ayub (59) and Shaibzada Farhan (65) set the tone. Pakistan never let go down the momentum. Omar Yusuf (35) and Mudasir Khan (33) also made useful contributions. Bangladeshi admirers the vastly experienced Bangladeshi batters in the semi final failed to chase 212 against the same Indian attack in their semi final match getting bundled out for 160.
The match was virtually won by Pakistan after posting such an impressive score. Their bowlers bowled well and fielded sharply in restricting Indians to 224 all out in 40 overs. Abhishek Sharma (61) and Yash Dhul (39) tried to resist. But these were not enough. Sufiyan Muqeem (3/66), Mehran Mumtaz ( 2/30) and Arshad Iqbal (2/34) were the main destroyers for the Pakistanis.

Team Pakistan may be congratulated for their very impressive performance throughout this tournament. It appears that cricket in Pakistan is once again regenerating with several talented youngsters emerging. They always produce quality bowlers. Now some young quality batsmen like Tayyab Tahir, Omar Yusuf, Salim Ayub are emerging. Future appears secure for Pakistan.
