Bangladesh women's football played out to a 1-1 goal draw with Nepal women's football team in their third and ultimate pool D match of 19th Asian Games women's football held today at Wenzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium.
Bangladesh took the lead through a goal from Sabina Khatun in the 44th minute while after the breather Poudel restored the parity for Nepal in the 83rd minute of the match.
Bangladesh women's football team, who exit from the Asian Games, earlier made a losing start in the Asian Games football after a massive 8-0 goal defeat to former world champions Japan in their opening group opening match and again suffered a 6-1 goal defeat to upper ranked Viet Nam in their second match.
Nepal also lost their previous group two matches. In Hockey, Bangladesh registered their first win beating Singapore by 7-3 goals held at Gongshu Canal Sports Park Stadium.
In the proceeding, Mizanur Rahman Sobuj scored a brace while Puskar Khisa Mimo, Milon Hossain, Ashraful Islam, Arshad Hossain and Rakibul Hasan supported him with a lone goal each for Bangladesh.
While Hariraz struck twice while Kelt Lu netted one goal for Singapore.
In swimming, Sonia Akhtar finished fourth in her own heat in the women's 50m freestyle event held at the Aquatic Sports Arena. Bangladeshi swimmers participated in the number one heat.
Sonia clocked 30.11 seconds. Thirty two participated in four heat and Sonai's position was 27th.
In shooting event, Bangladesh finished 13th in the 10m air pistol event held at Fuyang Inhu Sports Centre. Bangladesh team evenly scored 1680.
India won gold in this event by scoring 1734 while China bagged silver and Vietnam secured bronze medal.
Shakil Ahmed scored 564 and finished 40th. Shaker Ahmed was ranked 47th with a score of 560 and Sabbir Al Amin ranked at 53rd with a score of 556.
Fifty six shooters participated in this event. In boxing, Abu Talha eliminated from the boxing ring on the sixth day of the Games. He lost 4-1 to his Saudi Arabia's Khalid Abdul Aziz in the 51kg weight category held at the Hangzhou Gymnasium.
However, Talha fought well in the pre-quarter finals. Meanwhile, Imranur Rahman, the fastest man in Bangladesh, will take to the field tomorrow on the first day of athletics. He will start heat number five of the 100 meter sprint.
