Bangladesh women's cricket team defeated Pakistan after a super-over drama in the second ODI in Mirpur on Tuesday.

The three-match ODI series is now tied 1-1 and both sides will have all to play for in the last game at the same venue on November 10.

Nashra Sundhu was given the responsibility to defend eight runs in the super over which she almost did but ended up conceding a four on the final ball of the match by Nigar Sultana.

Meanwhile, Pakistan could only score seven runs in the super-over courtesy of a four by Aliya Riaz.

Pakistan were in the driving seat during their chase of the 170-run target as by the end of the 47th over, they needed 17 runs on 18 balls with three wickets in hand.

But Diana Baig and Umm-e-Hani failed to keep their wickets and were out, leaving their side to chase three runs in the last over with just a wicket to spare.

The visitors came close, they needed 1 run on 1 ball, but when Nashra Sundhu left the crease to complete a single she failed to reach the other side of the wicket and the match eventually went to the super over.

In their innings, apart from Bismah Maroof, all of the Pakistani batters contributed some runs with Sadaf Shamas being the top-scorer scoring 29 runs.

Bangladesh's Rabeya Khan was the top wicket-taker with three scalps.

Batting first, Fargana Hoque and Nigar Sultana scored valuable runs and their knocks were the key reason why the home side managed to post a 169-run total on the scoreboard.

Hoque scored 40 runs while Sultana scored 54 runs. Only five Bangladeshi batters managed to score in double digits.

Earlier, Pakistan won the first ODI by five wickets in a dominant display as the Green Shirts had bowled the entire home side out for 81 runs.
