Bangladesh couldn't augment their overnight score, getting all out for 310 on the second day of the first Test against New Zealand at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium today (November 29).
Shoriful Islam was the final wicket, falling lbw to Tim Southee's first delivery in the morning session.
Before the team's dismissal, the last pair, Shoriful and Taijul, contributed 20 runs, with Shoriful scoring 13 and Taijul managing eight. Mahmudul Hasan Joy, the Bangladesh opener, led the team's batting with 86 runs after opting to bat first upon winning the toss.
Despite missing a century, Joy was the lone player to achieve a fifty-plus score in a lineup where everyone, except Taijul Islam, reached double figures.
New Zealand's Glenn Phillips excelled with his off-spin, securing four wickets on the initial day for 53 runs, while Kyle Jamieson and Ajaz Patel each took two wickets.
