PBKS’ superb bowling effort capped by a comfortable 163-run chase helped them upstage CSK by seven wickets at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium on Wednesday.
After opting to bowl on a red-soil pitch, Sam Curran’s men put CSK on a stranghlehold, capitalising the middle-overs where they only conceded 56 runs. Spinners Harpreet Brar and Rahul Chahar picked up four wickets while conceding 33 runs in eight overs.
In reply, quick knocks from Jonny Bairstow and Rilee Rossouw lightened the load on the middle-order as Punjab afflicted a fifth consecutive loss for Chennai in their head-to-head encounters.
