Bangladeshi’s star pacer Mustafizur Rahman has been picked as an overseas icon player by Dambulla Thunders for the upcoming edition of the Lanka Premier League.

The franchise, which will feature in the upcoming LPL under new ownership, can pick one more foreign player and two local cricketers before the auction, which is scheduled to take place on 21 May.

Mustafizur has performed extremely well in the ongoing Indian Premier League where he took 14 wickets from nine matches at an average of 22.71.

The fifth edition of LPL will begin on 1 July where a total of five franchises will compete in the league.
