The upcoming SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship will be held at the Bashundhara Kings Arena, the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) confirmed on Sunday (June 29).
A meeting was held in this regard, following which BFF Competition Committee member Tajwar Awal told reporters that the decision was made considering upcoming maintenance work at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.
“The tournament will begin on July 11, and it will take place at Bashundhara Kings Arena,” said Awal.
After the meeting, Competition Committee Chairman and BFF executive member Md. Golam Gaus said, “We have spoken with several companies regarding the renovation. Many are asking for three to four months. We don’t want to take any major risks before October. Full-scale renovation will start in November when there are fewer international matches. Meanwhile, turf improvement work will continue under our supervision without digging up the soil.”
The BFF is now making all necessary preparations to host the regional youth tournament smoothly at the new venue.
