Australia sealed a commanding 133-run win over the West Indies in the second Test at Grenada, securing an unassailable 2–0 lead in the three-match series with one Test remaining in Jamaica.

After setting a target of 277 on a bowler-friendly surface, the Aussies dismantled the West Indies batting lineup in just 34.3 overs.

Mitchell Starc (3-24) and Nathan Lyon (3-42) starred with the ball, with Lyon moving within one wicket of surpassing Glenn McGrath’s 563 career dismissals.

The day began with the hosts wrapping up Australia’s second innings quickly, thanks to an aggressive spell from Shamar Joseph (4-66). However, chasing nearly 300 on a deteriorating pitch proved too steep a challenge for the West Indies.

Their innings stumbled early as Josh Hazlewood trapped John Campbell lbw for a duck. By lunch, the hosts were 4 down, with wickets falling at regular intervals. Shai Hope (34) and skipper Roston Chase (17) briefly steadied the ship but couldn’t resist the relentless Aussie pressure.

Some late fireworks came from Shamar and Alzarri Joseph, who combined for five sixes, but Lyon’s spin ended the brief counterattack. He cleaned up the tail to wrap up Australia’s win and inch closer to becoming the second-highest wicket-taker in the nation’s Test history—only behind the legendary Shane Warne (708).

Alex Carey, named player of the match, praised the challenging conditions, calling them a “true test” of skill and resilience. Chase, meanwhile, urged his team to stay positive and keep the faith.

With momentum clearly on their side, Australia now turn their sights to completing a clean sweep when the series moves to Jamaica.
