The Bangladesh women’s U-20 football team departed for Laos today to participate in the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers 2026.

The reigning SAFF U-20 Women’s Champions, Bangladesh has been placed in Group H alongside South Korea, Timor-Leste, and hosts Cambodia. The girls in red and green will begin their qualifying campaign against Cambodia on August 6.

Bangladesh will then face Timor-Leste on August 8 and take on tournament favorites South Korea on August 10. All group matches will be held at the New Laos National Stadium in Vientiane, Laos.

A total of 33 teams from across Asia have been divided into eight groups in the first phase of the qualifiers. The eight group winners and the three best runners-up will advance to the 12-team final round, joining host nation Thailand.

The final round of the biennial youth championship, organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), will be held in Thailand next year. The tournament is a major platform for under-20 women’s national teams across Asia to showcase their talent on the international stage.
