The Bangladesh U-17 women’s football team will take on hosts Bhutan in their return match of the four-nation SAFF U-17 Women’s Championship at Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu today (Aug 29). The match kicks off at 3 pm Bangladesh time, while India will meet Nepal in the second fixture of the day at 6 pm at the same venue.
Bangladesh are currently second in the table with nine points from four matches. India lead the standings with a maximum of 12 points, maintaining their unbeaten run, while Nepal are third with three points. Bhutan remain winless after four outings.
Earlier, Bangladesh started the campaign with a 3-1 victory over Bhutan but went down 2-0 to India. They bounced back with back-to-back wins against Nepal, 3-0 and 4-1.
Bhutan, meanwhile, have endured a dismal run, losing all four games — 3-1 to Bangladesh, 2-1 to Nepal, and 8-0 and 5-0 to India — leaving them out of contention.
