DHAKA: Bangladeshi cricket sensation and also one of the top all-rounders of the world Shakib Al Hasan is eligible to play in the upcoming 17th Asian Games as Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has reduced his ban.

He, however, has no more restriction to play in the upcoming Dhaka Premier League but he will not be able to play abroad during his tenure of the ban.

The BCB director Jalal Yunus made the disclosure on Saturday.

On July 7, Shakib Al Hasan was suspended by the BCB from all cricket matches for six months and will not be granted an NOC to play in overseas competitions until the end of 2015.

However, on July 20, Shakib apologized and appealed to reduce his punishment to BCB.

BCB reconsidered their decision and reduced his ban on September 15 for domestic matches.
