DHAKA:  Taijul Islam’s 8 wickets helped Bangladesh to pack up Zimbabwean innings with 114-run in the first test at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Monday.

The hosts have already lost three wickets without any run while chasing the 101-run target set by Zimbabwe.

Chigumbura bagged the wickets of Tamim Iqbal and Mominul Haque while Panyangara took Shamsur Rahman’s one.

However, Taijul Islam becomes the first Bangladeshi to take 8 wickets in an innings while Shahadat Hossain and Shakib-al-Hasan bagged one wicket each.

Earlier, host Bangladesh lost all wickets to score 254 runs in their first innings.

The first test of the three-match Bashundhara Cement Test Series began Saturday.

Later captain Mushfiqur Rahim scored a responsible 64 off 126 balls.

Zimbabwe pacer T Panyangara took five wickets while Sikandar Raza and T Kamungozi bagged one wicket each. Besides, Mominul Haque, Shakib al Hasan (5) and Shahadat Hossain (0) were run out.
