KHULNA: Mahmudullah’s restrained batting helped Bangladesh take a 266-run lead at stumps on day-4 in their second innings of the second test against Zimbabwe in Khulna on Thursday.

Bangladesh have lost five wickets to score 201 at the end of 64-over in the match of Bashundhara Cement Test Series at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium.

Mahmudullah and Shuvagata Hom will resume their innings on Friday with their respective 63 and 23 runs.

Before going back to pavilion, Tamim Iqbal scored 20, Shamsur Rahman 23 and Mominul Haque 54.

Mominul Haque, with the innings, became the quickest Bangladesh batsman to reach 1000 Test runs.

MN Waller bagged four wickets while Panyangara picked up one.

Earlier on the day, Tigers restricted Zimbabwe within 368 runs despite Masakadza scored 158 and Chakava 101 runs.

All rounder Shakib Al Hasan bagged 5-wicket for the thirteenth times of his career.

Bowling hero of the first match of Bashundhara Cement Test Series Taijul Islam took three and Rubel Hossain got two wickets.

In the morning on day-4, Zimbabwe resumed their first innings with 331 for 5 wickets after the Tigers had posted a first-innings total of 433.

In the first innings of Bangladesh, Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan scored 109 and 137 respectively while Mahmudullah Riyad scored 56-run.

On October 27, Bangladesh won the first Test match by three wickets at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka.
