DHAKA: With two tons of Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes, Bangladesh made its highest opening partnership Test record in the first innings of the third and last match against Zimbabwe in Chittagong on Wednesday.
Bangladesh scored 212 runs for no loss after 58.4-over at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. Tamim and Imrul scored 103 each.
In May, 2010, both the openers scored 185 runs, the previous record against England.
Earlier in the day, Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim won the toss and decided to bat first in the mach of the Bashundhara Cement Test Series.
Bangladesh have entered into the game with two changes, opener Imrul Kayes replaced Shamsur Rahman and pacer Shafiul Islam replaced Shahadat Hossain.
The visiting Zimbabwe also have a change; quick bowler Shingi Masakadza and Richmond Mutumbami have replaced Tendai Chatara and Malcolm Waller, who was reported for a suspect action in the previous Test.
The home side, however, have already clinched a 2-0 series win in Dhaka and Khulna.
