Dhoni, Mustafizur fined

DHAKA: Match referee Andy Pycroft on Friday summoned India captain MS Dhoni and Bangladesh's rookie pacer Mustafizur Rahman over the shoving incident involving two players in the first ODI on Thursday and handed a fine to both after finding them guilty of breaching ICC players' regulations.

Dhoni was fined 75 percent of his match fees while Mustafizur 50 percent for the incident which saw the two players barging into each other. While Dhoni was scampering for a quick single, Mustafizur was in his follow-through after delivering in the 25th over of the match.

Mustafizur had to go off the field to receive treatment after the collision. The debutant left-arm claimed five wickets as Bangladesh thrashed India by 79 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

However, the Bangladesh team manager confirmed Cricketnext that they didn't lodge an official complaint into the incident.

There was anger among the fans as well, who shouted anti-Dhoni slogans while celebrating Bangladesh's upset win on the streets of Mirpur.
