Bangladesh Cricket Needs Responsible Cricket Fans

Cricket and cricketers are making Bangladesh proud. Mashrafee, Mushfiqur, Shakib, Tamim, Mahamudullah, contributed Bangladesh Cricket team is making Bangladesh a self-believing nation through continued brilliant performances.

They have encouraged emergence of a brilliant group of highly talented younger generation Taskin, Shabbir, Soumya, Liton, Jubair and others to lead our cricket to an assured future.

Think of teenager Mustafiz who alone teased and tormented the formidable Indian batting winning the series almost single handed. We are aware that tigers have very enthusiastic tiger fans that have stood beside and behind the team in their thick and thin.

They shouted for them equally loudly when chips were down. But certain recent developments have also created shocks and frustrations.

Nasir is one of the brilliant all-rounders who had to take out one of the posting from his face book for very unfortunate and obnoxious comments of some dirty persons.

He was going home with her loving younger sister and had a selfie with her. On her sisters insistence he posted it in his facebook. He was an essential member of the Mashrafee squad and made some useful contributions in the series win. Even in the last match he took a spectacular catch to dismiss Dhoni of Mashrafee.

Who the hell were these bad taste persons? Cricket players are also human being. They have family life. They have brothers, sisters, and parents like all of us. They have every right to relax and feel comfortable.

Nasir is connected with me in my Facebook. I saw that innocent photograph and felt great that this young player was in relaxing mood with her younger sister on way to meet his parents. There must not be any reason to offend them.

I felt embarrassed, shocked and disgraced when I noticed Nasir announcement of withdrawing the photograph for ugly unwarranted comments. I have also noted that genuine cricket fans have expressed concerns.

In this age of modern technology it is not difficult to locate the source of comments and identify the offenders. Nasir should take assistance of technology and help locating one or two offenders. They must be brought to book for giving lessons. Cricket admirers must not offend cricket players. They must be honored and respected. They put their best to entertain. They are our flag bearers.

In the past we know few incidents happened with Tamim, Shakib and even Mashrafee. Ok for their good or bad performances they can be admired and criticized in civilized manners. But why their loved ones wives, sisters and family members have to be offended. Fans should place their in their positions and realize how they would react to similar situation.

A player can never perform similarly all the time. There will be high and low. But why passionate persons must not support their idols equally all the time. Why Shakib’s wife had to receive ugly comments during a match from persons watching matches at VIP gallery? Why Tamim’s wife was called when the prolific batsman was going through a long patch? We hope media and Cricket supporters’ organizations will continue doing fans education on good behavior. There will be always some black sheep in every society .But if majority behaves bad guys will be always cautious.

Bangladesh cricket is maturing. We need cricket educated supporters. We need persons like tiger Soyaeb, we need organization like BCSA. I have watched cricket in major cricket venues. I have watched ashes with Barmy Army in Australia. They are noisy and make funs. But they never offend players and appreciate good cricket of even bitter opponents. Bangladesh fans must also appreciate pieces of good cricket of opponents.

Cheer up Nasir. Take it easy 99.99 % admire your efforts. Cheer your loving sisters. Sisters are precious gift of God. Give her and all of us with precious ‘Eid gift with a match winning performance against South Africa.
