DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced a cash reward of Tk 1 lakh for each player of Chittagong Abahani for winning the title of Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup tournament-2015.

Chittagong Abahani beat East Bengal F.C. of Kolkata by 3-1 goals in the final of the first edition of tournament at M A Aziz Stadium in Chittagong.

After the ending of the match, the premier joined the presentation ceremony from Gonobhaban through video conference.

Later, she made the announcement of giving bounty for players of the winning team.

PM’s deputy press secretary Ashraful Alam Khokon confirmed the matter to banglanews.

During the presentation ceremony, the PM said the victory made the nation proud. It is also proud for all members of Abahani team

She said the victory will encourage children to youths to pay extra attention to play football. Sports will flourish in all over the country, she hoped.
