DHAKA: Bangladesh Under-19s have beaten Namibia Under-19s by eight wickets in the 21st Match of ICC Under-19 World Cup at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday (February 2).

Earlier in the day, Bangladesh Under-19s captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz won the toss and invited Namibia to bat first.

Tight bowling display by young tigers did not allow Namibia batsmen to free their hands. Only, N Davin’s 19-run and L Louwrens’ 17 helped them gather 65-run in 32.5-over. No other batsmen could reach double digits.

Saleh Ahmed Shawon, Ariful Islam and Mehidy Hasan Miraz took two wickets each while Mohammad Saifuddin took one.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz has become the top wicket taker overcoming Pakistan’s left arm spinner Imad Wasim in youth one day internationals. He has taken 74 wickets in 53 matches.

In response, Bangladesh chased down the target losing two wickets in 16-over. Joyraz Sheik and Nazmul Hossain Shanto were unbeaten with 34 and 14 runs respectively.
