Zimbabwe win by 11 runs

DHAKA: Zimbabwe have secured their second win of the first round of the World T20 against Scotland in India on Thursday (March 10).

Chasing 148-run target, Scotland lost wickets on regular intervals at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur of India.

They lost first wicket after scoring 8-run and in 7.5 overs Scotland lost five top order batsmen while team’s score was 42.

RD Berrington was the highest run scorer for Scotland as he made 36.

Richie Berrington and Preston Mommsen added 51-run for the sixth wicket to help Scotland recover. But it was not sufficient for win the match.

The win in the fifth match has boosted Zimbabwe’s hopes to reach the main round of the event.

Earlier, Hamilton Masakadza won the toss and opted to bat against Scotland.

Zimbabwe started their campaign beating Hong Kong by 14 runs in the opening game of the T20 World Cup in Nagpur.
