Bangladesh have match-winners despite Taskin, Sunny’s absence

DHAKA: Australia’s captain Steven Smith on Sunday (March 20) said they were not taking Bangladesh lightly despite the absence of Taskin Ahmed and Aarafat Sunny in their ICC World Twenty20 match here on Monday (March 21).

“They have still got some quality bowlers in their line-up. We don't take any side lightly,” Smith said, reports the New Indian Express.

The match will be played at Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru of India.

“It is going to be tough because Bangladesh are a much-improved side, and have some match-winners in their line-up. We have to be at our best if we want to beat them tomorrow night,” Smith added.

“They have learnt a lot under Chandika Hathurusinghe, and they will be a big challenge,” he added.

On Australia's chances of qualifying for semifinals, Smith said after the loss against New Zealand they are keen on getting the winning touch back.

Replying to a query about dropping Josh Hazlewood, Smith said he would be an option in tomorrow’s match if the grass stays on the pitch.

Smith said the pitch looks decent and would not turn as much as it did in last couple of matches.
