DHAKA: Bangladesh will host Afghanistan for three one day international match series, the first ever, to be played at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium from September 25 to 30 before the tour of England.
The two teams contested in two 50-over with Bangladesh, Afghanistan have won one and lost one. Bangladesh lost in the Asia Cup 2014 but beat Afghans in the 2015 World Cup.
Nasimullah Danish, Chairman of Afghanistan Cricket Board said, “This will be the first series between Bangladesh and Afghanistan. We are looking forward for an entertaining cricket to the cricket lovers of Bangladesh.”
“We are in close discussion with ICC full members and successfully completed many tours with full members. Series of matches with full members prove that, Afghanistan cricket secured decent spot in cricketing world. It’s always good for our team development to test themselves in different conditions, and there’s no better place than Bangladesh to do that.”
“We are very thankful to Bangladesh Cricket Board for hosting Afghanistan National Cricket Team and we are committed to play as many international games as possible.”
“We will learn and deliver good cricket for cricket lovers,” Shafiq Stanikzai CEO of Afghanistan Cricket Board.
