DHAKA: Bangladesh qualified for the AFC U-16 Women's Championship 2017 beating Chinese Taipei by 4-2 goals in their group C encounter held on Saturday at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.
In the 11th minute of the match, Taipei took the lead as their captain Su Yu Hsuan shot from the top of the box hit the middle of net (1-0).
Bangladesh equalized the margin from a penalty later in the 28th minute. Defender Shamsunnahar made no mistake to convert the spot kick (1-1).
Bangladesh got another penalty in the 37th minute when Krishna Rani had again been fouled in the box by Taipei skipper Su Yu Hsuan. Shamsunnahar utilized the opportunity (2-1).
Bangladesh skipper Krishna Rani fired a blasting left footer into the middle of the net from the box in the 56th minute (3-1).
Marzia scored the fourth goal (4-1) for Bangladesh in the 78th minute with a placing shot capitalizing on a corner from Sanjida Khatun at the left wing.
Wu You Jou, however, reduced the margin for Chinese Taipei in the 88th minute (4-2).
Bangladesh will play their next match against UAE on Monday (September 5).
