DHAKA: Rajshahi and Khulna franchises are set to return in the fourth season of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), a professional Bangladeshi Twenty20 cricket league, scheduled to be held in November.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) source said that they already have ensured owners for these two franchises.
BPL governing council member Sheikh Sohel told banglanews that Renaissance Group of Bangladesh will take over the Rajshahi franchise while Gemcon Group will take over Khulna franchise.
“Besides, BCB is looking for a new owner of Sylhet franchise as the previous owner failed to abide by the rules and regulations,” he added.
Rajshahi and Khulna had taken part in the first season under the name “Duranta Rajshahi” and “Khulna Royal Bengals” but missed out the second and third season.
