FROM MIRPUR: The visiting Afghanistan are chasing Bangladesh-set 266-run target in their first match of One Day International (ODI) series on Sunday (September 25).
Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat first at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
With two fifties from Tamim Iqbal (80) and Mahmudullah (62), tigers scored 265 runs for all wickets in the stipulated 50 overs.
Besides, Imrul Kayes took 37 and Shakib Al Hasan 48 runs.
Dawlat Zadran picked up four runs while Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan took two wickets each.
After a 10-month break, Bangladesh started the match around 2:30pm with a great expectation.
As per ranking, Bangladesh team is way ahead than Afghanistan. However, the winning for the guest country by 66 runs in a preparation match against BCB Eleven in Fatullah on Friday (September 23) made them confident.
