CHITTAGONG: Bangladesh have made early inroads into the batting line-up of visiting England in the first innings of first test match at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Thursday (October 20).
The home team has picked up three English wickets in the first hour of day’s play as debutant Mehedi Hasan Miraj took two while ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan took one wicket.
Debutant Ben Duckett, Captain Alistair Cook and Gary Balance returned to pavilion scoring 14, 4 and 1 runs respectively.
Currently, Joe Root and Moeen Ali are at the crease with 13 and 1 runs.
Earlier, England captain Cook won the toss and decided to bat first in the match that Bangladesh are playing after 14 months.
Bangladesh is playing with three debutants -- Sabbir Rahman, former U-19 captain of Bangladesh Mehedi Hasan Miraj and Kamrul Islam Rabbi while England have one debutant -- Ben Duckett.
